Advantages to Coatings

  • Coating costs are usually 25%-35% of new roofs or re-roofs.
  • Coating installation can be done without taking parking spots in the parking lot and is much safer due to not having to remove the old roof, which make it non-disruptive to operations.
  • Coatings come with 10, 15 or 20-year manufacturer’s warranties. 
  • Coatings are considered roof maintenance and are fully tax deductible as an operating expense. They are classified by the IRS as a maintenance item and can in most cases be expensed in the accounting period that it was incurred. A new roof system is a capital asset that must be amortized over a 39-year life.
  • Silicone and Acrylic Coatings can be re-coated at the end of the 10, 15 or 20-year warranty period and extended for another warranty period at a fraction of the cost of the original coating.
  • White coatings will qualify for energy rebates with most power companies, and because of the reflectivity, saves energy costs for the building.

  • Routine roof maintenance is required to comply with most manufacturers’ warranties.

  • Insurance companies are now requiring detailed roof maintenance records in order to process future storm claims and policy renewal.

  • Enrollment in our roof maintenance inspection program includes an initial roof inspection and preventative maintenance specific to your roof system.

  • Enrollment entitles you to our “Preferred Customer” classification with first-priority status as a partner in the event of a future storm.

  • “Preferred Customer” status entitles you to reduced labor rates.

  • Quick-Response Storm Inspections to evaluate storm damage are completed at NO CHARGE.

We can address any tear-off and installation required, including asphalt shingles, modified bitumen, metal, tile, TPO and EPDM. In addition, we will provide roof overs when requested and the situation permits. We can also apply various types of coatings, which when applicable, can help to recover even the most challenging roofs such as common tar and gravel, also referred to as a built-up roof (BUR).
